 
All jewelry has been pre-oiled with jojoba oil. It is recommended that you periodically oil or re-polish your plugs to prolong the life of the jewelry. It is not uncommon for the grain to "raise up" after extended wear, which can and should be sanded down to prevent irritation to your piercing (800 grit works fine, then re-polish with 1200 grit or finer polishing/sanding paper). From time to time you should wash your plugs with a mild soap and water, then re-oil before insertion. Do not autoclave.
